Abs Timer is designed to remind you at intervals, prescribed by you, to perform a transverse abdominis (TVA) contraction. The TVA is your internal "girdle" and the abdominal muscle that needs to be worked to achieve a flat, toned stomach and reduce or avoid lower back pain. This muscle is often not effectively trained and forgotten about when doing common abdominal exercises such as crunches – which don’t target the TVA. Even better, you can work your TVA at any time of day without entering a gym!
